The trooper, who remains unidentified, was released from University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center on Friday, Mar. 11, the outlet reports.
The trooper was flown center after being struck by a driver during a commercial vehicle inspection the shoulder of Route 152/Mountain Road.
The driver, 68-year-old Lawrence Barnes of Joppa, failed to stop for the inspection itself and hit the trooper before speeding off.
Another trooper, who was assisting in the inspection, located Barnes about a half mile away. Barnes was arrested and has since been charged with failure to remain at the scene of an injury crash.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
